Recent downtime

On 14th August 2021, we experienced a major system failure due to an error by the machine installer when it was put together. The new owners of the host center, took on the responsibilty of recovering our data and restoring our systems.
A total of 60 man hours and a forensic recovery of all data lead to a full system retore on Saturday 28th August.
We are now on a new machine (awaiting specs).
We are also now on a new network through London that promises more stable connections and less lagg due to Ddos checks.
All character data has been recovered and is in place, all the database information has been also recovered and is now in place.
There is an issue with the CAPTCHA on vaious web pages including the votes and the registration script.
This issue is due to be dealt with on Wednsday this week during which time we will have to go offline for a short while.
Thank you to all that continued to have faith in us that we would not give up and to all those that continue to support us
by playing and being part of the PWR family and to those that donate to help keep PWR online for everyone.
Thank you all for your continued support.

The Move was successful

The Move was successful and is now fully complete.
There was no data loss and all systems are now running normally
Now is the time to click the PATCH button on the launcher and choose [EN] Patch - 2
if you missed the stage 1 patch, you may need to download the client again in full.
however if you missed the 1st patch and dont want to download everything again,
simply open your main PWR folder
then open the Patcher folder, inside you will see another folder called "server"
inside that is a text file called "updateserver.txt" open that and change the IPs inside
so that it looks the same as this :
"[EN]Patch-1" ""
"[EN]Patch-2" ""

this will then allow you to update to version 56 for connection to the new server.
Thank you for your patience and support

The Move

The machine move will take place on Tuesday 2nd October in the afternoon. The server will need to shut down whilst the move takes place.
Server will therefore shut down at noon 12:00 UK Time and is planned to restart around 3pm, however if everything gets done sooner we will let you know and the server will reboot.
There will be no data loss and no roll backs.
Thank you for your patience with this and hope it goes smoothly.

We're Moving

Over the next 2 weeks, we will be moving the machine from it's current location to a new location and linking into a new Juniper 10GE network, being fed by numerous 10x10GE peers, so you will see an improved performance in network latency and response times as well as improved SLA and uptime guarantees.

For us to do this move smoothly for you, it will be done in 2 stages.

Stage 1

There will be a client side only update, this will provide you with a second option of "Update server".

If you come to log in and cannot connect, you should check to see if the server is active.

If you see it isn't online, check the message you get regarding the update connection.

Stage 2

If you see this message

Then it's time to select "[EN] Patch -2" shown in the image above.
Once you select this it should then give you another patch (client side only) that will remove
any references to our old IP location and once patched you will then be able to connect to and login to the machine
as normal.

We cannot as yet post the time or date of this move but will try to time it so that we are offline for as little time as possible.
It "should" take us no more than an hour to complete the move of the machine.

We are now in the process of adding more fashion items as requested and are working on 3 new crowns still which are to be released soon.

There will be some more new titles to work for also we are adjusting the Daily 70 and the Daily 100 PWR quests to give you more options and make it a bit more interesting.

We are also looking at switching the Arks parcels that you currently get as a daily log in reward for something else, maybe a new pack all together.

Please if you can, go to our facebook page and like the page then share the video we posted recently which may help to attract more new players and maybe some more old faces back again.

We are at some point this month in need of a HDD upgrade which is being dealt with by the wonderful staff at the Data center.

Our server rental payment date has been moved forward due to the renegotiation of the agreement last month.

Thank you all for your continued support in keeping YOUR server online.

August Refresh

I am happy to let everyone know that we have just agreed another 12 month contract with our hosts at a reduced rate to last year, this means that we have another wonderful year of Perfect World Rebellion to enjoy and I'm sure that won't be the end as they are eager to help us keep going. We have to swap some hardware this year sometime for newer items such as HDD being replaced with the newer faster SSD Hard drives. This will also help with any lag iassues still remaining that may be in anyway caused by the machine, however with the beast of a machine we now have there should be no actual lag or spikes caused by our machine, only those that unfortunatly come with the internet normally. We also have a £4000 firewall system in place that we are now safely behind that will illiminate and ban any Ddos attacks that may occur.
We also have many planned updates that we are working on, little fixes and more mounts and of course fashion will all be added as soon as we have them worked out and tested.
I'd like to thank you all for your continued support with votes and donations and also by simply playing PWR. We have no reason to do this other than for our players.
Here's to another year at least of PWR.

New Forum

As you can see we now have a new forum in place, the last one became over come with spam bot posts and we were asked by the hosts to clear this as it was causing them issues as well as us. We took the drastic choice and deleted the entire old forum and its system.
You will need to register here again if you want to post anything however most threads are open to public view if you are just a lurker.

We welcome your ideas as always and thank you for your patience and hope this system works better at protecting us than the last one.

Have fun and be good
